How to fill in the worksheet

  1. Income first. Write your take-home pay for the period — after tax and deductions.
  2. Plan every line. Use last month's bank statement for real numbers, not hopes.
  3. Record as you go. Weekly columns let you catch overspending by week two.
  4. Check the difference. A negative difference in wants is the first place to cut.
  5. Zero it out. Anything left over gets a job — usually savings.

Prefer to keep it digital? The budget calculator does the maths for you and the expense tracker fills in the “actual” column automatically.

Questions people ask

How do I use a printable budget template?

Write your take-home pay at the top, fill in the “Planned” column for each bill and category, then record what you actually spent during the period. The difference column shows where you went over or under.

Monthly, weekly or biweekly — which template should I print?

Match it to how you are paid. Weekly templates suit hourly and gig work; biweekly suits people paid every other Friday; monthly suits salaries paid once a month.

Can I fill it in on screen first?

Yes. Tick “Fill with my budget” to copy the lines from the budget calculator into the template before printing. Amounts are converted to weekly or biweekly automatically.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. The site header, footer and buttons are hidden so only the worksheet prints.
